Halloween Costume Rules
To: Parents and Guardians
Re: Halloween Costumes
As the holiday approaches, we have had several questions that have been coming into the building looking for clarification. Each grade level will be announcing what they plan to do to celebrate the date. Traditionally we have recognized the holiday, and have done something small to celebrate it.
Students that plan on wearing their costumes at school must plan on arriving at school with their full costume on. We will not be scheduling time for students to put on or take off their costumes during the school day. The end result of this is that students that bring costumes must wear them for the full day.
Costumes must also conform to the following guidelines:
We want our students to be able to have a safe and fun avenue to celebrate this day. It is our belief that if we are able to follow the guidelines above, our students will have the appropriate direction to have a wonderful day. Parents will be contacted if there are any students that are not in accordance with the above guidelines, and arrangements will be made for changing out of costume.
Sincerely,
Mike Shelton

Costumes must also conform to the following guidelines:
- No masks or face coverings will be allowed (we must be able to tell who you are while you have your costume on.)
- Please do not bring in any type of weapon (real or make believe.)
- Please keep “blood accessories” at home, use them for your home trick or treating.
- No make up or spray cans for hair color please. Do not bring materials to re-apply spray stuff.
- Please refrain from wearing any racially insensitive costumes as well.
- All Costumes must follow school rules. See the handbook for guidelines.
We want our students to be able to have a safe and fun avenue to celebrate this day.
